Paramahansa Yogananda is often credited for igniting much of the West’s curiosity in Eastern wisdom when he came to Los Angeles in the 20’s during the peak of the Spiritualist boom. Upon his arrival, he established the flagship Self-Realization Fellowship Temple (Sunset+Serrano) and The Shrine, their grotto on Mount Washington. Both reside in their original locations .
